These beautiful “canastos”, aka. baskets in English, are handmade in a small town named Sandoná, in the beautiful region of Nariño, Colombia.
Diana, her husband and family, lead the work of 120 women artisans in the countryside of this beautiful town. They process the Iraca fabric from scratch and transform into these unique bags, accessories and home decorative items.
The Iraca is known for being very resistant and long-lasting. Also, you can flatten your bag and steam it later to its original shape.
