The rhombuses represents the 'Embera roads', this is the way they leave a foot print for the Mother nature. The woven area of this design is longer (6 1/2"), that is why I use it on my ankle.
These woven beaded bracelets are made by the 'Embera Chami', indigenous group from Colombia.
This is one of ways they use to express their culture by all the member of their community. They also practice basketry and ceramics, tasks that are developed by women, and wood carving, work that is made by men.
